10-Year-Old Girl Shot And Killed Neighbor Fighting Her Mother; Mother Is Charged

FLORIDA- A 10-year-old girl shot and killed a neighbor who had gotten into a fight with her mother on Memorial Day, police said.

The unidentified girl and her mother Lakrisha Isaac, 31, were taken into custody after the fatal shooting on Monday night outside of their apartment complex, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Witnesses say the victim, Lashun Rodgers, 41, was grilling outside of her unit around 11:45 p.m. Monday when Isaac, who was allegedly drunk, walked up to her and slapped her in the face, reports WIFR.

Rodgers slapped Isaac back and they began fighting before Isaac gave her daughter a bag with a loaded handgun inside, police say.

The girl took the loaded gun and fired two rounds at Rodgers, striking her.

Rodgers was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Isaac was arrested and charged with manslaughter by culpable negligence, aggravated assault with a firearm, child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Isaac’s daughter was taken into the custody of Florida’s Department Of Children and Families.
