14-Year-Old Boy Shot 18 Times Waiting While Waiting At Bus Stop

PHILADELPHIA- A 14-year-old boy was shot 18 times and killed Monday afternoon as he was waiting for a bus to go home after leaving school.

The teen, identified as Samir Jefferson, was waiting at the bus stop around 3:30 pm when two men got out of a vehicle, approached him and fired at least 36 rounds.

Jefferson was struck 18 times. He collapsed to the ground and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Jefferson’s family told WTXF that the 14-year-old had messaged someone a video of a fight just 15 minutes before he was killed.

There have been no charges filed and authorities told WPVI-TV they have questioned two persons of interest. Police are also looking into whether the video of the fight, which was sent on Instagram, played a factor in Jeffersons death.
