WASHINGTON – A 16-year-old girl accused of fatally stabbing another teen girl over McDonald’s sauce has taken a plea deal.
Police said Liggon and the 16-year-old suspect were in the backseat of a car around 2 a.m. on Aug. 27 when an argument over the fast-food’s sweet-and-sour sauce broke out. The dispute spilled outside of the sidewalk in front of the McDonald’s where Liggon was stabbed multiple times in her chest and abdomen with a 7.5-inch knife.
She later died from her injuries.
Instead of murder charges, the teen killer now faces voluntary manslaughter while armed and carrying a dangerous weapon.
The plea deal means the unidentified teen girl could be released from jail by the time she’s 21, but it’s up to the judge on the sentencing hearing in January.
