DETROIT- An 18-year-old teenager was killed for his sunglasses in a gas station, and police are looking for the animal who did it.
Police in Detroit say that Lateo Garrett, and his brother were at a gas station on Sat a little after 11 p.m., when a man approached him, attempting to take his name brand sunglasses.
Garrett’s reaction was to step back, and that’s when the unknown suspect shot him.
The victim appeared to be in stable condition, even speaking on the phone afterwards, saying he was “hot”, but he later died at the hospital.
The saddest parts of this story is the fact that his mother watched the surveillance video from inside the gas station, and Garrett was planning on attending college next year.
Police have released a short video with the suspect exiting a red Chevy Cobalt, and photos of two other people that are being considered “persons of interest.”
