3 indicted in the murder of woman who went missing in Dallas

WASHINGTON- Three people have been indicted in the murder of a woman who went missing in Oct. while visiting a friend in Dallas.

Charles Anthony Beltran, 32, Lisa Jo Dykes, 58, and Nina Tamar Marano, 49, were all charged with murder in connection to the death of Marisela Botello-Valadez, according to the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office press release on Wednesday.

Marano and Dykes were arrested in March, and Beltran was arrested in April.

Botello-Valadez had come to Dallas from Seattle on Oct. 2, 2020, to visit her friend. That friend told police that she took a Lyft from his home on Oct. 4 and never came back.

Botello-Valadez was last seen leaving a club with a man on Oct. 5. She went missing until her body was found with multiple stab wounds in a wooded area in March.

Marano admitted to bringing Botello to his home, and told police that one of the female suspects stabbed Botello with a knife, and fled the scene.

An affidavit states that cellphone records show Marano, Beltran and Dykes were with Botello-Valadez at Dykes and Marano’s home on the what’s believed to be the last day Botello-Valadez was alive.

The affidavit also states that a carpet that had been cleaned with bleach, and there were spots of blood that belonged to Botello.

There is no clear motive for Botello’s death.

All three face up to life in prison.
