GEORGIA- Three men have been convicted in the murder of Ahmaud Arbery.
The convictions of Greg McMichael, his son, Travis and their neighbor William “Roddie” Bryan, came Wednesday after jurors deliberated for about 10 hours.
All three cowards face up to life in prison. The judge will decide whether they will have the possibility of parole or not.
Arbery, 25, had been going for a jog in the suspects neighborhood on Feb. 23, 2020, when the McMicheal’s grabbed their guns, jumped into their pickup truck and followed him.
Bryan joined the pursuit in his own truck and filmed Travis McMichael fatally shooting Arbery, who was unarmed..
The three men said they had suspected Arbery of fleeing from a burglary because he had stopped to check out a home that was under construction.
Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones said her son can finally “rest in peace.”
