The Jefferson Hill Police department said on a Facebook post that the unidentified child walked out of the motel and “into the northbound lanes of Route 51.” The driver involved in the incident remained on the scene and is cooperating with authorities.

The toddler was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

It was discovered that the toddler was left alone in a motel room with another 2-year-old child.
