CALIFORNIA- Over 3 dozen missing children were rescued during a human trafficking investigation in Southern California,
According to the F.B.I., the 33 children rescued were part of “Operation Lost Angels”. Eight of the children were being sexually exploited when authorities rescued them, according to the FEDS.
Two of the children were rescued before, but returned to their sex trafficker’s, something the agency says happens often.
One suspected human trafficker was arrested, and there are now multiple investigations were launched.
Some of the minors were also arrested.
The FBI said in a statement. which read “Some of the minor victims were arrested for probation violations, robbery, or other misdemeanors”, including “one child was a victim of a noncustodial parental kidnapping.”
In 2020, the FBI conducted 664 human trafficking investigations in the country, which resulted in the arrest of 473 traffickers.
