TEXAS- Forty-Six people were found dead Monday inside of a tractor-trailer in a suspected migrant smuggling attempt, authorities say.
The bodies of the victims were discovered inside of the 18-wheeler in San Antonio just before 6 p.m. after a worker from near-by heard someone crying for help inside of the truck. The man discovered the trucks partially opened and saw the dead bodies inside.
There was one body found outside of the truck, and dozens more inside of the truck.
Luckily, there were 16 survivors, including four minors, who were rushed to a hospital to be treated for heat stroke and dehydration.
Authorities say there was no water in the truck, or air conditioning.
Degrees reached 105 on Monday in San Antonio.
Four people have been arrested, but it’s unclear what their involvement was.
