OHIO- A 5-year-old boy was shot by his “intoxicated” mother on Friday, police say.
Police were dispatched to the boy’s home after his family members took him to a hospital for treatment.
The boy was brought to a Children’s Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound that went through both of his knees. He was placed in stable condition and is waiting for surgery.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, the boy was lying on the couch next to his mother, Trenise Turner, 30, when she began “pointing her handgun at several adults inside of the home and making threats”.
Police say that Turner went to put the handgun in her purse, when the gun went off and shot her son.
Turner has been charged with felony endangering of children and domestic violence by assault.
It’s unclear whether the child will be removed from the home…
