COLORADO- A daycare owner was arrested on Monday and charged with suspicion of child abuse knowingly/reckless with no injury and attempt to influence a public servant according to The Colorado Springs Gazette.
Police say they received a call for a welfare check at the daycare that Carla Faith, 58, owned because they had received several complaints about her housing more children than what she was supposed to, which is supposed to be a total of 6 children.
On Nov. 13., authorities didn’t find any children at the daycare, so they tried to get a hold of Faith, who was in her home, that’s on the same property as the daycare.
Police say Faith wasn’t cooperating with them, and that’s when they heard sounds coming from children inside of the home.
After searching, they found a fake wall that lead to a basement with two adults and 26 children under 3 hidden inside.
