ATLANTA- A seventh defendant in the RICO indictment against rapper Young Thug and almost two dozen others has pleaded guilty.
Antonio Sledge became the seventh person to take a plea deal in the case, according to local reports.
Sledge entered a plea, admitting to committing crimes and being a member of the alleged criminal street gang, Young Slime Life, which is the name of Young Thug’s record label.
Deputy District Attorney Adriane Love spent several minutes in court giving details on all the criminal acts Sledge is accused of committing.
‘Defendant has been a member and/or associate of YSL since 2012. While associated with YSL and to support and express loyalty to YSL, defendant and co-defendant Garlington and Zachary appeared in a video with another person where defendant brandished a weapon used in a drive-by shooting,” Love said in court.
Sledge plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was sentenced to 15 years on probation.
Six other co-defendants have also taken deals and pleaded guilty.
Rapper Gunna, agreed to an Alford plea, which means a defendant doesn’t admit they committed the crime, but acknowledge that it is in the best interest to plead guilty.
Five other co-defendants have also pleaded guilty, including Young Thug’s brother, Quantavious Grier, also took a plea deal.
Martinez Arnold (Aka Duke), Winnie Lee (aka Slimelife Shawty) and Antonio Sumlin (aka Obama) also took plea deals.
There are now 21 defendants ahead of the Jan. trial date.
Jury selection is set to begin on Jan. 4.
