GEORGIA- An 8-month-old baby is dead after the father was arrested, according to police.
Davied Japez McCorry Whatley arrived at a police station on Tuesday around 2:17 p.m., police said in a press release. Whatley was meeting with the property custodian, but police found he had a probation violation warrant for his arrest, reports CBS.
Whatley was then taken into custody, the Gwinnett County Jail said.
7 hours later, the baby was brought into the E.R. by the grandmother, who told hospital staff that the baby was left in the car during a traffic stop. The baby was pronounced dead.
Police say that Whatley never mentioned he had his infant daughter inside of his car and there will be an investigation.
