8 People Killed At Travis Scott’s Concert, Hundreds Injured, Including Children

HOUSTON- 8 people were killed at Travis Scott’s third annual Astroworld music festival at NRG Park in Houston on Friday.

Chaos ensued after a crowd decided to rush the stage as Travis was performing, police say.

Authorities in Texas said the crowd began to “compress towards the front of the stage” around 9:15 p.m., which is what caused panic among the fans.

17 people were transported to a hospital, where 11 were treated for cardiac arrest. Hundreds were injured, including a 10-year-old boy. Witnesses told police they witnessed children being trampled.

The second day of the show has been cancelled. There was a crowd of 50,000 fans at the show Friday.

Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner tweeted Saturday “The city of Houston extends our condolences to the loved ones of 8 people killed and several injured at #ASTROWORLDFest.”

“Organizers held the event to bring people together for music, but it sadly ended in tragedy. Thanks to police, fire & other agencies that responded to assist.”

Astroworld 2021 had a crazy lineup of performances from artists like Young Thug to Bad Bunny.

This is not the rapper’s first concert where fans were injured due to lack of security.

The Houston Office Of Emergency has set-up a hotline for those looking for their loved ones or friends.

The office tweeted “If you have not been able to contact your loved one who attended #ASTROWORLDFest please call 832-393-2991 or 832-393-2990”.
