9-year-old boy dies after attempting Tik Tok challenge; mother warns others

TENNESEE- A 9-year-old boy is dead after attempting a deadly Tik Tok challenge that has gone viral.

LaTerius Smith Jr., was found unresponsive in his room with a belt around his neck. He was taken to a hospital on Friday, where he was pronounced dead.

His family says that LaTerius was attempting a challenge on Tik Tok, which teaches kids how to strangle themselves, but they must get out of it before dying.

The boy’s parents are warning other’s to closely monitor what their children are watching on social media apps, especially with challenges that have caused the death of other children.
