PENNSYLVANIA- The body of a deceased 9-year-old boy was found in a wooded area earlier this week and police say they have a person of interest.
The body of Azuree Charles, 9, was found under a lawn chair that was behind a neighbor’s home on Wednesday after he was reported missing, reports TribLive.com.
Charles was found with no shoes or socks.
His death was ruled a homicide.
During a press conference on Thursday, Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli said a person of interest has been named and is being investigated.
Charles was reported missing at around 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning and was later found dead that same day.
The boy’s father was arrested on unrelated charges that included child endangerment and simple assault.
