Man convicted of murdering Micheal Jordan’s father is granted parole

NORTH CAROLINA- One of the men convicted in the murder of Michael Jordan’s father, will be released from prison on parole.

The N.C. Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission announced on Tuesday, that they will be granting parole to Larry M. Demery and he will be released from prison on August 6th, 2023.

Demery was sentenced to life in prison in 1996, after pleading guilty to first-degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery for the fatal shooting of James Jordan.

Michael Jordan’s father, James Jordan, was killed on July 23rd, 1993, while he was sleeping in his car. His body was later found on August 3rd, 1993, in a swampy area.

Demery, and his friend Daniel Andre Green, were charged with Jordan’s murder, despite both men accusing each other of pulling being the shooter.

Green was hit with the same charges as Demary, and was sentenced to life in prison.
