Hot97 fires Paddy Duke over his involvement in the killing of Yusef Hawkins

NYC- Hot 97 has fired Paddy Duke,over his involvement in the death of Yusef Hawkins.

Paddy Duke, whose real name is Pasquale Raucci, was hired by the Hip Hop radio station’s sister company back in 1994. He eventually became the stations commercial programming director.

When the staff of Hot97 seen HBO’s “Yusef Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn”, they decided to fire Raucci.

The HBO documentary details the death of 16-year-old Yusef Hawkins, who was beaten by a group of eight white men in Brooklyn. Raucci was one of the eight men who was charged in connection to the murder of Hawkins.

Hawkins had went to Bensonhurst, Brooklyn with some of his friends, to check out a used car, but things took a turn for the worst, when the group of eight angry racist men beat him and his friends with a bat because they believed that one of the teens were dating a white woman they knew.

Yusef died from his injuries, and Raucci was convicted of three counts of unlawful imprisonment, but those felony charges were dropped by a judge, who sentenced Raucci to just probation and community service for his possession of a bat as weapon.
