ARKANSAS- A man has been sentenced to serve 2 life terms, plus 835 years in prison for killing an off-duty police officer.
According to WREG, Demarcus Donnell Parker, 27, was convicted on Tuesday by a jury of first-degree murder and other charges related the April 2018 shooting of Oliver Johnson, 25.
Prosecutors say that Johnson, was about 40 miles away by his home, when Parker fatally shot him.
Johnson wasn’t Parker’s intended target, as he was shooting at a rival gang, according to prosecutors.
Besides being charged with murder, Parker was also charged with six counts of first-degree murder, first-degree unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle and 15 counts of second-degree unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle.
Johnson was home, alongside his daughter, when he was killed.
