Rapper Nuke Bizzle arrested for fraud, identity theft

Rapper Nuke Bizzle has been arrested on identity theft and fraud charges, after bragging in a new music video about scamming the unemployment system.

31-year-old Nuke Bizzle, whose real name is Fontrell Antonio Baines, was arrested by authorities on federal charges of fraudulently applying for more than $1.2 million in jobless benefits, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Baines’ was arrested on Sept. 23 in Las Vegas, and was found in possession of eight Employment Development Department (EDD) debit cards. An affidavit states that 7 of the 8 cards bore the names of other people.

The affidavit also alleges that 92 EDD debit cards were preloaded with a total amount of more than $1.2 million in fraudulent benefits.

These cards were delivered to properties in Koreatown and Beverly Hills, where investigators claim that Baines had access to.

Baines, along with several others participated in the scam, allegedly withdrawing more $704,000 in cash from the EDD cards.

Authorities caught on to the rapper’s scam, after he released a music video on Sept 11, titled ‘EDD” where he brags about stealing money, using other people’s EDD debit cards.

What an idiot.

Baines has been charged with aggravated identity theft, access device fraud and interstate transportation of stolen property. He faces up to 22 years in prison if convicted.
