TEXAS- A couple have been charged for the brutal torture of a 12-year-old boy.
Troy Hall, 45, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 45 years in prison, after being charged with first-degree felony offense of injury to a child, authorities announced on Wednesday.
The boys mother, Angela Cassidy, 35, was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Sept. 4, without a plea. She was also charged first-degree felony offense of injury to a child.
Authorities say that Cassidy’s 12-year-old son fled their RV trailer on May 15, 2019. He went to a neighbor’s home, and told them how he was being tortured by Hall, which prompted the neighbor to call police.
Prosecutors say that the 12-year-old boy, who weighed just 50 pounds, was beaten with paint sticks, choked, handcuffed, forced to wear diapers, which were taped on him and was refused food.
The boy hadn’t been enrolled in school for two years.
