Charges upgraded for 2 men who murdered upcoming rapper

TEXAS- (KWTX) – Casey Wade Hughes, 23, and Justice Allen Stanford, 26, were originally charged with the murder of Preston Scott, 29, an upcoming rapper, who went by the stage name PJ OneEight, have been named in new indictments on Thursday.

Hughes, and Stanford have now been charged with capital murder, which carries a life sentence in prison without parole or death for the 2019 murder of Scott.

Officers who responded to the scene in April of 2019, found Scott lying on the street. He was taken to a nearby Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He had been shot in his back.

Stanford, and Hughes were arrested at a gas station, after police pulled their car over and found that it was stolen, and upon further review, discovered they were wanted for the death of Scott.
