TEXAS- A woman’s body was found inside of a trunk after a police chase.
According to KTRK-TV, troopers with the Texas Dept. of Public safety discovered the remains of 28-year-old Briana Teirra Johnson on Saturday while searching a white Honda for speeding.
When police attempted to search the car, the driver, Victor Campbell Jr., allegedly sped off. Police gave chase before Campbell crashed near the parking lot of a church thrift store.
Surveillance footage from Johnson’s home allegedly shows Campbell dragging her lifeless body around 5 a.m. into his trunk.
Campbell would often stay over at Johnson’s home, but it’s unclear what their relationship was.
Campbell has been charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, driving while intoxicated, evading arrest and he may face additional charges if he’s responsible for Johnson’s death.
There is no cause of death for Johnson at this time.
