Chicago rapper G-Herbo and several members of his crew were charged in federal court for using stolen credit cards and IDs to pay for a lavish lifestyle that included private jets, trips to Jamaica, food and expensive puppies.
G Herbo, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, is charged with wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, according to a indictment filed in the U.S. District Court in Springfield, Massachusetts.
According to prosecutors, G-Herbo and several of his co-defendants allegedly began their scheme in 2016 when they allegedly obtained stolen credit card information from the “dark web”.
G-Herbo and several of his associates, that included his manager allegedly used driver licenses, fake IDs and e-mail accounts with names of real businesses to fool companies and people.
The drill rapper’s manager Strong allegedly purchased two puppies in 2017 with a stolen credit, and allegedly made reservations for G-Herbo to stay at a Jamaican villa with stolen credit card information.
G-Herbo released his album “PTSD” in February.
