Killer who survived botched execution dies from Covid-19

OHIO- A killer who survived a botched execution 10 years ago, has died from complications due to COVID-19.

According to officials, Romell Broom, 64, died on Monday of COVID-19. His death comes 11 years after the state of Ohio attempted to execute him by lethal injection, but it failed.

Broom was sentenced to death for raping and killing 14-year-old girl Tryna Middleton. Broom abducted her in Cleveland in 1984, after she was walking home from a football game.

In 2009, Broom’s execution failed, with doctors trying to locate his veins for almost two hours. Broom was then put back on Death row.
