KIPS BAY, NYC- Police arrested a man on Saturday who raped a woman inside of her home on New Year’s Eve.
The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Elijah Kelly, a Kips Bay resident.
Kelly knocked the victim’s door on NYE’s around 11;45 a.m., saying he had a package for her. When the unidentified woman opened her door, Kelly forced his way in, choked her until she was unconscious and raped her.
Kelly also stole debit cards belonging to the victim, and forced her to give him the pins to all of them.
Officer’s spotted Kelly on Saturday, as his face has been plastered throughout precincts in the city.
Kelly has been charged with rape, sexual abuse, strangulation, robbery, assault felony, criminal sex act, grand larceny, trespassing and assault misdemeanor.
