Police release new video in Trey Songz stadium brawl; details

MISSOURI-  Police have released new video and details of Sunday’s altercation with singer Trey Songz and a police officer at the AFC championship game at Arrowhead Stadium.

The fight began after fans were complaining that the R&B singer was being disruptive, and not following COVID-19 protocols, as he wasn’t wearing a mask.

Stadium security were called 3 times after receiving several complaints, police say. According to an update on Monday, Songz was “not receptive and refused to comply”, and the newly released video shows that.

In the new video, which has no sound, the singer can be seen ignoring security officers, as he refuses to put a mask on, and shows him assaulting a police officer like in the first video, which was released by TMZ.

Police say that the 36-year-old singer also refused to comply with the stadium’s code of conduct by being intoxicated and using obscene language. He then refused to leave the stadium, after he was asked multiple times.

Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson, was arrested and charged with suspicion of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and trespassing.

Songz is known is to be a hothead, and has this not the first time that he’s got into it with a police officer. In 2016, he was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and malicious destruction of property after police attempted to shut his show down in Detroit.

He went into a rage, trashing the entire stage, and threw objects in the crowd, hitting an officer in the head.
