NORTH CAROLINA- Police have arrested a couple, and charged them with the murder of a pregnant woman whose body was found in a suitcase.
Emmalei Grace Trevathan, 24, and Thomas Clayton Johnson, 37, were arrested during a traffic stop on Wednesday.
Both were charged with murder, murder of an unborn child and concealment of a body.
The couple are accused of killing Brittany Samone Smith, 28, who was pregnant. Her body was discovered on Monday, stuffed inside of a suitcase along a shoreline.
Smith was last seen alive on Feb.4.
Police believe that Smith was strangled to death, but there is no motive.
Smith leaves two children behind.
