SOUTH CAROLOINA- Police have arrested a man who they say kidnapped a woman and sexually assaulted her in broad daylight.
Jamaal Harvey, 44, allegedly attacked the woman from behind as she was leaving a supermarket around 2:40 p.m. on Monday, WSPA reports.
Police say Harvey choked the woman with a rope until she was unconscious, and then placed her in his vehicle, driving to another location.
At that location, Harvey allegedly beat and sexually assaulted the victim.
He then dropped the victim off back at the supermarket.
Harvey claims to have no memory of the incident, and apologized to the victim in court on Thursday.
“I know all the evidence points to me. I have no recollection of what happened. But I know all the evidence points to me,” Harvey said, WHNS reported.
Harvey faces charges for kidnapping, criminal sexual conduct and assault and battery.
