NORTH CAROLINA- A woman and her boyfriend have been charged with murder in the death of a missing 6-month-old.
Police began investigating the disappearance of 6-month-old Nevaeh Smith on Tuesday.
Police say that Nevaeh was last seen alive in December of 2020. Evidence gathered, and the mother’s confession led investigators to believe that the toddler was dead.
Court docs state that Nevaeh’s mother, 22-year-old Deneshia Lerhae Murray,alleged her boyfriend “killed her child”. They drove to California “and left the baby on the side of the road”.
Documents also stated “Did not report since Dec. 20”, reports Fox8.
Both Murray and Wall have been charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.
They both remain in jail.
Investigators haven’t recovered Nevaeh’s body.
