WHITE PLAINS, NY- Rapper DMX has died at the age of 50.
DMX was in a vegetative state after he suffered a heart attack in his White Plains home last week.
His family released a statement about his death:
“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days.”
“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end,” the family added, “He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him.”
DMX changed the Hip-Hop game with his signature growling on tracks, voice and an aggressive persona, giving the rap game energy it was missing.
He sold millions of albums, with hit’s like “Get At Me ” in 1998, “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” on 2003 and many more.
DMX was an as well, starring in films “Cradle To The Grave”, “Belly” and “Romeo Must Die”.
