CHICAGO- Rapper G-Herbo was charged in a federal court with making a false statement to a federal agent.
The rapper, whose real name is Herbert Wright, was charged on Tuesday with allegedly making false statements to federal agent on Nov. 24, 2018.
G-Herbo denied working with his co-defendant, a rap promoter, Antonio Strong. Authorities say that Wright and Strong have allegedly been working with each other and that Wright also received valuable goods from Strong, reports WGNTV.
G-Herbo, and 5 other co-defendants were previously indicted for aggravated theft and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
Authorities say that the men allegedly used other people’s information, charging over a $1 million to live a lavish lifestyle that included trips overseas, expensive dogs and more over a period of 4 years.
G-Herbo’s new charge can carry up to 5 years in prison.
The Chicago drill rapper, who rose to fame in 2014, released his album ‘PTSD’ which landed #7 on the Billboard chart.
The rapper is currently expecting a baby with his girlfriend.
