TEXAS- A boy whose remains were found on Tuesday died weeks before he was reported missing, a new report says.
5-year-old Samuel Olson, who was reported missing by his father last Thursday, had been dead since May 10, according to court docs obtained by KTRK.
Olsen was in the care of his father’s girlfriend, Theresa Balboa.
Balboa allegedly told her roommate about the boys death, and when he arrived at the home, he says he found the boy unresponsive with bruises on him.
Court docs say that the roommate, Benjamin Rivera, and Balboa, placed Olsen in the bathtub, where he stood for two days.
Rivera and Balboa then put Olsen’s body inside of a plastic box and took his body to a storage unit. Balboa was later seen getting inside the vehicle of a man, who helped her place the plastic box with Olsen, in the back of his pick-up truck, reports KHOU.
Police found Olsens remains inside of a motel. His body was wrapped in plastic bags and secured with duct tape.
Balboa has been charged with tampering with evidence and may face additional charges.
