According to Pitchfork.com sources say Lil Wayne and Birdman have dismissed their ongoing lawsuit and so it was settled with Lil Wayne receiving about $10 million but the money did not come from Birdman, instead the money reportedly came from Universal Records. This lawsuit came about when Lil Wayne sued Birdman’s record label Cash Money Records to have his record label deal voided. Lil Wayne was basically stuck with Birdman’s label and was unable to release the “Carter V”. He said Birdman had owed him millions of dollars which was his album advance and more. Lil Wayne is now free from Birdman’s label and can finally release his “Carter V”. The two were as close as father and son, but when Lil Wayne decided to go his route, the feud became ugly to where Lil Wayne performed and had once yelled on stage for Birdman to “Suck his dick”. Other rappers have even got involved siding with Lil Wayne like Rick Ross telling Birdman to give Lil Wayne his money in a video, and up until recently with Pusha T who brought up the feud and Birdman up on his track “Infrared” from new album “Daytona” which started the whole beef between Drake and Pusha T. Congrats to Lil Wayne.
