VIRGINIA- A man has been charged after being accused of killing his best friend he allegedly mistook for an intruder.
Matthew Allen Sharpf, 37, was charged with voluntary manslaughter for the death of Johnathan Hankins, 37, WRIC reports.
Hankins showed up to Sharpf’s home at around 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday, without announcing that he was there, authorities say.
Sharpf was awoken, thinking it was a intruder, and allegedly shot Hankins as he was on the front porch. Sharpf’s wife called 911. Hankins was pronounced dead.
