D.C- A transgender woman was beaten by a group of women and a man inside of a laundromat on Sunday, police say.
Video footage of the attack, which has gone viral, shows 21-year-old Nysia Armstead being punched by two women before she’s stabbed in the head.
The victim was released from the hospital, telling WUSA “I got stabbed in my head, where I have 18 stitches right here,” adding “And I have like 40 stitches in my right arm.”
Armstead believes that she was attacked due to her being trans, and tells the news station that she was called f***** while being attacked.
Police have arrested 3 suspects, Melvin Taylor, 29, Rhonda Whitehead, 27 and Asia Whitehead, 28.
