Rap pioneer Biz Markie has died at the age of 57.
The Dj, beatboxer and rapper was hospitalized several weeks ago after having complications with his diabetes.
He had been struggling with health issues since July 2020.
The Grio reported that the rapper had went into a diabetic coma in Dec. and suffered a stroke.
Biz Markie’s 1980 hit “Just A Friend” is a classic, along with his other songs “Vapors”, and “Nobody Beats The Biz.”
He was also part of the rap group The Juice Crew.
