ATLANTA- Rapper Germ is mourning the death of his girlfriend who was kidnapped in front of him and later killed.
Germ’s girlfriend, 27-year-old Mariam Abdulrab, had arrived at their home around 5 a.m. on Friday after bartending when she was abducted, Atlanta police say.
The rapper, whose real name is Jerry Antoine, called police and told them that he witnessed a man getting out of a vehicle and holding Abdulrab at gunpoint before he drove off with her.
Police discovered Abdulrab’s body four hours about a mile from where she was taken. The medical examiners office determined that she died from multiple gunshot wounds, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Police arrested and charged DeMarcus Brinkley, 27, with murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Germ posted a picture with Abdulrab on Instagram. The caption read:
