TEXAS- A missing college student was found dead and now police have charged a suspect.
Police say they arrested and charged Jordan Potts, 26, on Wednesday, after allegedly killing Shawtyeria Waites, 21, on July 25.
Waites was last seen alive at an apartment complex in Houston, the night she was celebrating her birthday with her friends. They had dropped off her to meet a man, who police believe was Potts.
An hour passed and Waites friends were unable to get in contact with her. She was reported missing two days later.
Authorities determined Potts allegedly killed Waites in his apartment and then placed her car inside the trunk of his car before dumping her body.
Her body was found on Aug. 27.
An arrest warrant was issued for Potts before his arrest. He’s been charged with murder.
Waites may have met Potts through a dating app.
