BROOKLYN- Actor Michael K. Williams, known for his role on “The Wire” was found dead of a suspected heroin overdose in his Brooklyn penthouse on Monday.
Williams, 54, was found face-down and unconscious in his dining room with what appeared to be herion on the kitchen counter.
Williams nephew went to his home on Monday. Police were called to the actor’s residence about a man who was found “unresponsive” before 2 p.m., report The New York Post.
The actor struggled with drugs throughout his life and was open about it in interviews.
Williams was raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn.
There is no cause of death, and police are investigating the drugs found in Williams’ home.
