SAO PAULO — Singer Marília Mendonça died in a plane crash on Friday as she was traveling to her concert. She was 26.
Th Grammy award winning singer’s death was confirmed in a statement from her press office. The office confirmed that there were four other victims on the plane when it crashed under a waterfall.
There are no further details about the crash or Mendonça’s death.
The Brazilian country singer was a known feminist, who sang about issues against women in her songs.
Her album “Em Todos os Cantos” won her the 2019 Latin Grammy for ‘Best Sertanejo Album’. She was also nominated this year for the same award for her album “Patroas”.
