FLORIDA-Rapper YNW Melly has withdrew his demand for a speedy trial in his murder case Tuesday after his lawyer worked out a deal with a prosecutors to begin picking a jury in March of 2022, reports The Sun Sentinal.
YNW Melly, 22, whose real name is Jamell Demons, is accused of killing his two best friends in the back seat of a car while his co-defendant, Cortlen Henry, allegedly drove the vehicle on Oct. 26, 2018.
Both victims were pronounced dead upon arriving at a local hospital. Henry allegedly drove the victims, Christopher Thomas Jr., 19, and Anthony Williams, 21, to the hospital, but Demons wasn’t with Henry in the vehicle.
Prosecutors believe Demons was the gunman.
It’s unclear if Henry will be tried separately.
