FLORIDA- A mother was arrested after police say she allegedly left her baby home alone while she partied at a club on Thanksgiving.
Police responded to the residence of 37-year-old Victoria Hidalgo, after they received a call from a woman who said Hidalgo had shot a gun inside of her home and sounded as if she “was under the influence of alcohol”, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a bullet lodged in Hidalgo’s front door and noticed that the car she shared with the unidentified caller was gone.
The unidentified woman let police into the home, where they found Hidalgo’s baby unsupervised in crib.
Hidalgo was found riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle that had been pulled over. Police say her breath smelled of alcohol, her speech was slurred, and her eyes were “bloodshot and watery” as they were questioning her.
The man who was driving the car told police he had met Hidalgo at a bar and was taking her home while he was intoxicated, and she was.
Hidalgo was charged with child neglect without great bodily harm.
