NASHVILLE- A mother was arrested and charged Thursday after she allegedly carried a loaded handgun into a high school during a fight between students.
Barquita Williams, 38, was found with the 9mm semi-automatic handgun on the school’s grounds, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Dept.
The incident happened after a fight took place earlier in the day between two female students when they had seen each other in a stairwell after school was dismissed, police say, reports FOX17 NASHVILLE.
When police arrived, other parents had told them that Williams had a gun. She denied having one but gave consent for a search and a School Resource recovered the loaded 9mm.
It’s unclear what Williams was charged with.
