FLORIDA- Police have arrested a man in connection to the death of his missing girlfriend, police say.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received a tip Tuesday about a body 40 miles northwest of Tampa.
The body was identified as 34-year-old Kathleen Moore. Police say her tattoos helped in ID’ing her.
Moore’s body was discovered in a wooded area covered by bushes. Police said this area was previously searched.
A cause of death for Moore hasn’t been determined.
Moore was last seen alive on the night of Nov. 28, while she was at a bar with her boyfriend, Collin Knapp, 30, and some of her friends. Witnesses said Moore was seen arguing with Knapp before they left.
Knapp told police that Moore had left on foot with her backpack the following day, but there was no evidence to back that up.
Police found bloody clothing belonging to Moore in a dumpster.
Knapp has been charged with second-degree homicide.
