HOUSTON- Police are searching for a suspect who shot a store clerk in the face before trying to steal money from the store’s cash register.
Surveillance footage from Monday shows the suspect entering the store and leaning over the counter.
The clerk attempts to talk to the suspect, who then drew a gun and shot the clerk in the face.
The clerk tried to stop the robbery, but the suspect began beating on the clerk before continuing to rob the store.
The suspect was unable to get any money and fled the scene, police say.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was placed in critical condition and he is expected to survive, FOX26 reports.
