Man who shoot up Lil Wayne’s tour bus has convictions overturned

ATLANTA, Georgia: Georgia’s state supreme court announced on June 29th that they have overturned Jimmy Carlton Winfrey’s gang charges because the trial judge assigned to this case” improperly participated” in the plea negotiations, which makes the suspects plea involuntary. According to the Associated Press, the D.A. reportedly told the judge at pre-trial hearing that Winfrey had rejected 3 plea deals, so the judge allegedly took it upon herself to tell Winfrey his plea opportunity would go away, and if he decided to take the case to trial, that she had a “bad reputation” for “being tough”. Winfrey was charged in 2015 and sentenced to 10 years for shooting up Lil Wayne’s tour buses. Winfrey, who was known in the streets as “Peewee Roscoe” was Bryan “Birdman” Williams tour manager & allegedly had a Bloods gang beef with rapper Lil Wayne. Winfrey was also Young Thug’s manager. Young Thug was even arrested , and held on $1 million bail, in connection with this shooting back in 2015. Young Thug is free.
