SALT LAKE CITY- A man is accused of ordering his 4-year-old son to fire his gun at police officers after an argument at a McDonald’s drive-thru on Monday, police say.
The shooting took place at a McDonald’s in Salt Lake City when a man allegedly flashed his gun at fast-food workers during an argument over his order, reports KUTV.
The man, who had two of his children in the backseat of his vehicle, parked his car and waited for the employees to fix his order but they decided to call the cops instead.
When police arrived at the scene, the suspect got into a struggle with police, but they were able to remove him from his vehicle.
As the suspect was apprehended, he ordered one of his kids to shoot the responding officers.
Police saw a child’s hand holding a gun from inside of the vehicle. An officer was able to hit the gun, sending the bullet upwards where it hit a restaurant awning.
No one was seriously injured.
Police haven’t released the identity of the suspect or the child who fired the gun. His charges are also unknown at this time.
