WASHINGTON, D.C.- A mother who admitted to throwing her 2-month-old infant in the trash was fatally stabbed by the baby’s father, according to police.
Police responded to a residence on Wednesday and found LaDonia Boggs with a stab wound and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to WTOP.
Authorities later arrested the baby’s father, Carl Jones, 44, in connection to Boggs death.
Both the suspect and victim shared a son, Kyon Jones, who was last seen alive in 2021. After the father contacted children’s services, an investigation into the infant’s disappearance.
Kyron’s body was never found, and Boggs later told police that she had accidentally killed the infant after she rolled on top of him while high on PCP. Afterwards, Boggs told police that she dumped his body in the trash.
Boggs appeared on the news and changed her story several times with authorities.
She was initially charged with felony murder, but prosecutors decided to drop it and just charge her with tampering with evidence, according to Fox News.
Jones was charged with second-degree murder while armed.
