Mike Tyson Will Not be Facing Charges For Punching Man On Airplane

Former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson will not be facing charges for punching a man who threw a water bottle at him while on a JetBlue flight last month.

San Mateo County District Attorney Stephen Wagstaffe told TMZ that his office decided to dismiss the case against the boxer because of “the conduct of the victim leading up to the incident, the interaction between Mr. Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the victim and Mr. Tyson.

Tyson, 55, was flying to Florida on April 20 when he was caught on video repeatedly punching fellow passenger Melvin Townsend III in the head. Townsend denies throwing a bottle at Tyson.
